THE HON. D. LOWELL

JENSEN SCHOLARSHIP

Judge Jensen is one of the founding members of the Earl Warren Inn of Court, which is a branch of the American Inns of Court. The mission of the American Inns of Court is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and legal skills within the practice of law.

The goal of this scholarship award is to recognize excellence in public speaking and presentation. The scholarship is designed to assist graduating high school students who have demonstrated an interest in public speaking and/or jurisprudence by providing money to further their academic studies. This year, at least one student will be awarded a scholarship of up to $2,000. Additional scholarships may be awarded in the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.

Eligibility

 

The Scholarship will be awarded to one or more high school seniors who graduate from high schools in Alameda County. Students participating in the Alameda County Philip A. Harley Memorial Mock Trial Competition or other debate or public speaking programs may apply.

 

INSTRUCTIONS

 

Complete the Application Form and return it along with the following items: (1) Essay(s); (2) Certified Transcript; and, (3) Two letters of recommendation to:

APPLICATION PACKAGE DEADLINE: MAY 1, 2024.

The Awardee(s) will be announced on or before June 5, 2024.  Awardee(s) must be present to accept the award at the annual Earl Warren American Inn of Court Dinner on June 5, 2024 at 6:00 pm in Oakland.
