The Earl Warren Inn of Court chapter of the American Inns of Court was established in 1996, and named to honor Earl Warren, who had served as the Alameda County District Attorney, and later as Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court.
The Earl Warren Inn of Court is a branch of The American Inns of Court, which was founded in the United States in 1980. The mission of the American Inns of Court is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility, and legal skills. The Earl Warren Inn was founded by Federal District Court Judge D. Lowell Jensen, the late California Superior Court Judge Stanley P. Golde, and Attorney Jules Bonjour, in order to further this mission within the Bay Area legal community.
